Christmas in the Bahamas

I know this post is a little late. I just wanted to share with all of you a few photos from Nicholas' second Christmas. We had such a great time with him this year. He was so excited by the lights and the singing bears. His new words this Christmas was "Chrishmas tree" and "Stanta". Every night he wanted to walk down the street to see the house that was all lit up with lights and decorated with Santa etc.

Danny's mom came into town to spend Christmas with her Grandson. She enjoyed every minute of it and was very sad when it came to an end. It is very hard for his parents to be so far away from their first grandson.

Yiayia and Papou was Santa this year. They got him a Jeep which he loves to get in, jump up and down, and say "vroooom".

Christmas lunch was at my cousin Andrew's house. We all gathered there at around 2pm to have lunch and hang out. I love Christmas time. It is such a blessing to be around lots of family and friends that you love so much.

We are looking forward to next Christmas to be in our new home.

The Merrell girls visit The Bahamas

Today was such an enjoyable day for me. I was able to spend good quality time with some dear friends from Taylor University. Amy Merrell Oliver, my roommate from college turned 30 on the 14th of January. To celebrate this special year, a few of her girlfriends took a cruise to The Bahamas. I was unable to go but was lucky to be living in the Bahamas, one of the destinations. We met up at 12 to go for lunch. I took them to a restaurant named Olives, which is owned by a good friend of mine. It was delicious. We were able to catch up on the latest and greatest things in our lives. We had not seen each other since graduation, May 2002. Needless to say this get together was long overdue. I was so excited to introduce my husband and Nicholas to everyone. After lunch I took some of the girls to Atlantis where we walked around and ended it with coffee/ice cream. The time went so quickly, before we knew it, it was 4 o'clock and it was time to take them back to the ship. Thank you Amy for a wonderful day! I love you and miss you lots. I hope to visit WPB very soon.

Our little boy is four weeks old.

Nicholas is 4 weeks old today!  We just came from the doctor and he says that Nicholas is a very healthy baby boy.  He is now weighing 12lbs 6ozs and is 23 inches long.  We have been very lucky so far.  He is a very good baby.  He gets up every 2-4 hours in the night for a feeding and then goes right back to sleep.  We have discovered that he does not like a dirty diaper.  He lets us know right away when it is dirty.  Danny and I are enjoying every minute of his life.  We can't get enough loving.  We are constantly hugging and kissing him.  He is very alert and anyone who sees him can't not believe that he is only 1 month old.  Look forward to everyone meeting him.

Love him, love him!

Nicholas has been such a blessing to us. Danny and I love him so very much. He is growing so much. No one believes us when we say that he is less than 3 weeks old. He is already wearing 3 months clothes. Danny says we grow them big in Texas. So my son is definitely a Texas blood boy. He is doing a lot already. He was lifting his head from the second day. He turned over from his back to his tummy two days ago. He is smiling at us, and he recognizes both Danny and my voice. We are cherishing each and every day.

Our New Addition

On September 24th, 2008 at 10:47am, Nicholas Daniel Davis was born weighing in at 10lbs 9ozs and measuring 22 inches.  The doctors did not expect that I would have delivered such a big baby boy.  Needless to say, it was a blessing that they had decided the day before that I have a scheduled C-section, as they said it would have been a lot of grief in the hospital if I would have attempted a normal vaginal delivery.  We are very thankful to God for watching over all the doctors during this operation.  I had exceptional care during this time.  I had to stay in the hospital for 3 nights in order to recover from the cut.  It was a week before I was able to walk properly and go up and down the stairs.  Danny and I had to live downstairs in our apartment for a week.

Baby Shower - July 6th

My family and friends had a baby shower for me on July 6th.  It was a beautiful day.  There were about 70 people that came.  Danny's mom and sister were able to come down for the occasion which made it extra special.  My sister also came down from Tampa.  I received everything off my registry and more.  We were able to get enough money to almost pay for our nursery which was a blessing.  Speaking of nursery, I am still waiting for my furniture to arrive.  We are hoping it comes before baby Nicholas decides to arrive.

May 5, 2008

Today was a very special day for both Danny and I. It was 10:00am when I was laying on the bed at the doctor's office and looking at our beautiful baby on the scan. About 10 minutes later the doctor gaves us the news that we were going to be proud parents of a little boy. Tears came to my eyes, that is tears of joy. My husband was so excited that he could not wait to leave and tell everyone that he was going to have a son. I was so excited that I left work at 2pm to start searching the internet to start decorating my nursery.

I have been bad with taking photos of myself to show the progress of the little man. Sad to say I think it is a big man because I keep on growing. I promise to take some over the weekend.
