Mooing this Halloween

This Halloween was surprisingly an enjoyable one. The morning of Halloween Nicholas woke up at 4am and did not take a nap the entire day. It showed at about 4:45 when we were about to put his costume on. He did put up a fight and must I say bribery paid off. We promised him that from our house to Rubins, he could sit in the back seat with momma, so he was overjoyed as he loves to feel like a Big Boy! We got to Rubins, where my mom works and he got some candy and gave yiayia lots of hugs. It is the tradition since my mom has to work that we stop by before we go trick or treating so she can see her little tink pot, which she calls Nicholas. We then went to my cousin Andrews house where we got together and loaded up in the truck and went around the neighborhood. Nicholas had a blast. After every house, he would look at us and say, "more trick or treating" He was so excited to get candy even though he doesn't know what it taste like. At about 6pm we had to leave all the cousins and head to our new neighborhood where hte kids were meeting at our house to go around the block together. I got to really meet and greet some of my neighbors. We are so blessed to be in such a great neighborhood with some great people. We look forward to next year! I wonder what Mr Nicholas will want to be next year! He did pick out his costume in Target when we were in Florida visiting Amy!

Our summer vacation

This post is a few months late but I really wanted to share our special vacation
with all of my friends. We, Danny, Nicholas and I joined my parents and my
sister Eirene in Kalymnos, Greece this summer.

My father was born in Kalymnos, Greece and we, my sister and I have been fortunate enough to go back almost every year since we were born. This trip was extra special as I was able to take our son to a place that I, his mother have called my second home. We were there for three weeks however Danny had to leave us a week early to get back home to go to work.

Nicholas absolutely loved everything about the vacation. He was able to go to the beach everyday and play in the ocean and sand. He even was fortunate enough to be able to take his afternoon nap on a lay off chair which you will see in a photo below. He was just one happy kid.

My dad's family absolutely adored Nicholas. He also adored them. Once we said their name once, Nicholas remembered each one of them. My cousin Michael was also there from New Jersey. We had not seen him since our wedding in 2006. What a memorable trip we had.

I am truly blessed!

I am truly blessed with an amazing family. I have a father who is loving, caring and constantly showing his love in so many ways. I have a mother who will go far beyond the call of duty for her children. A loving sister who is always by myside and loves her little nephew to pieces. A husband that continues to show his love for me and our son. A son who I absolutely adore. My friend Ryan Clarke came down to Nassau last week to do a few photo shoots. We were fortunate for him to take our family photos. We have not had a family photo like this since our wedding four years ago. These photos mean the world to me and I am so excited to display them all over my home for people to see.

Alexandrea and Nicholas visit West Palm Beach

A few months back, I was talking with my dear Taylor friend about getting together with the kids. It did not take a lot for me to go on expedia and book two tickets for October 7th - 11th. We had an amazing time. Nathan, Amy and Aliva opened their homes to us and were great hosts. Nicholas and Aliva played well together. Every morning Nicholas was get up early and try and go into Aliva's room so they can start playing. It took a lot of effort on my part to keep him quiet til 7am when Alivia got up. Amy and I had a great reunion. It amazes me how you can continue where you left off eight years ago. I truly treasure my friendship with Amy. God brought us together August 1998 and has allowed our friendship to continue. I love her and am so blessed to call her my Friend.

Christmas in the Bahamas

I know this post is a little late. I just wanted to share with all of you a few photos from Nicholas' second Christmas. We had such a great time with him this year. He was so excited by the lights and the singing bears. His new words this Christmas was "Chrishmas tree" and "Stanta". Every night he wanted to walk down the street to see the house that was all lit up with lights and decorated with Santa etc.

Danny's mom came into town to spend Christmas with her Grandson. She enjoyed every minute of it and was very sad when it came to an end. It is very hard for his parents to be so far away from their first grandson.

Yiayia and Papou was Santa this year. They got him a Jeep which he loves to get in, jump up and down, and say "vroooom".

Christmas lunch was at my cousin Andrew's house. We all gathered there at around 2pm to have lunch and hang out. I love Christmas time. It is such a blessing to be around lots of family and friends that you love so much.

We are looking forward to next Christmas to be in our new home.

The Merrell girls visit The Bahamas

Today was such an enjoyable day for me. I was able to spend good quality time with some dear friends from Taylor University. Amy Merrell Oliver, my roommate from college turned 30 on the 14th of January. To celebrate this special year, a few of her girlfriends took a cruise to The Bahamas. I was unable to go but was lucky to be living in the Bahamas, one of the destinations. We met up at 12 to go for lunch. I took them to a restaurant named Olives, which is owned by a good friend of mine. It was delicious. We were able to catch up on the latest and greatest things in our lives. We had not seen each other since graduation, May 2002. Needless to say this get together was long overdue. I was so excited to introduce my husband and Nicholas to everyone. After lunch I took some of the girls to Atlantis where we walked around and ended it with coffee/ice cream. The time went so quickly, before we knew it, it was 4 o'clock and it was time to take them back to the ship. Thank you Amy for a wonderful day! I love you and miss you lots. I hope to visit WPB very soon.
